The Dead Hub have put up photos and a small review of Avenged Sevenfold performing in Rockford, IL. You can check out the full gallery here.
Avenged Sevenfold arrived in Rockford, IL riding high from their triumphant night at the 2011 Revolver Golden Gods where they took home a handful of awards, including best vocalist (M. Shadows) and guitarist (shared jointly between Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance).
There were a couple moments of note for this show. They filmed So Far Away for their forthcoming music video in tribute to their former drummer James “The Rev” Sullivan. They also stopped in the middle of God Hates Us as M. Shadows had noticed a fan had fallen and was in danger. When they decided to resume the song after the second verse they were unable to get it together and decided, after two tries, to go ahead and start from the top. It was refreshing to see the band joking amongst themselves after their minor set glitch.
The trend continued with a rather short headline set (only 12 songs) as a trade-off to having a couple top tier bands on the bill. It was my first time seeing Three Days Grace and I’d trade that for a few songs by A7x, though it is nice to see your band out there for close to two hours on occasion and that just is not happening very often these days.
