Deathbat News Reader Arron Reviews His First A7X Show In Oklahoma City.

Deathbat News reader Arron J was kind enough to send in a little write-up regarding his first time seeing Avenged Sevenfold in Oklahoma City, OK. Read his review below.

When the show ended everyone cheered, clapped, screamed and chanted “Sevenfold” showing that they were all there for one thing and one thing only – Avenged Sevenfold. For this being my first concert and graduation present it was the greatest thing that could have ever happened to me. It was by far the greatest day of my life. I’m so glad I finally got to see the men that made me who I am today. Thank you Avenged Sevenfold. Thank you Jimmy.

Driving to Oklahoma City to watch Avenged Sevenfold was exciting but actually seeing them play in person was a feeling I cannot explain. Sitting through BFMV and 3DG were awesome but it came time for Avenged Sevenfold and the crowd couldn’t have been more pumped. As the stage was getting set up for them everyone started chanting “Sevenfold” and the anticipation was building. As the guy hung himself from the rafters, the organ in “Nightmare” started and when Synyster Gates walked out that’s when I went nuts because finally seeing the man that’s the reason I started playing guitar, my favorite guitarist and my hero, right there in front of me was a feeling I didn’t think I would ever experience.

They got to “Welcome To The Family” and since the Oklahoma City Thunder were playing that night Shadows gave us a little update on the game. He said, “It’s a little chilly tonight, but there’s 2 reasons that’s okay. 1. – Avenged Sevenfold are here to head it up and 2. – The Thunder are beating the Grizzlies right now.” As the whole crowd went crazy he continued, “It’s only halftime so if they lose don’t kill me, but I’m thinking they’re gonna win this game tonight.” They wound up losing. M Shadows says, “Who all are seeing us for the first time?” and half the crowd including me raised their hands and screamed. He continued, “Where have you been all your life? Well for all of you newcomers, welcome to our big fucked up family.” The crowd cheered and they played “Welcome To The Family.”

The song was followed by “Almost Easy” and “Buried Alive” and then they played “So Far Away.” I had seen pictures on Deathbat News before but WOW. The amount of lighters and cellphones being held up in respect for Jimmy was crazy. One of my favorite parts of the show is when they ended with “Unholy Confessions.” They stopped just before the end of the song and M Shadows says, “This is our favorite part of the whole fucking show. I got to see how big Oklahoma can get their circle pits.” and tells Syn to start a riff. They started playing “Crossroads” for about two or three minutes which I wasn’t expecting at all. As they went back into “Unholy Confessions” the pyro was amazing. The whole crowd was going in one big circle, fire everywhere and when it ended fireworks went off.

As Avenged Sevenfold head backstage everyone chants “one more song” so when they got back onstage they brought a beautiful piano with them that I had also seen a picture of on Deathbat News. As one of the lights on the stage lit up the piano “Fiction” began playing. The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. When I mentioned earlier that there were a lot of lighters and cellphones it was nothing compared to when “Fiction” started. The whole Zoo Amphitheatre was lit up completely. As they ended and the show went into “Save Me” the crowd went WILD in the pits.
