Today marks the 14 year anniversary of “City of Evil.” Since its release it has now sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone. It did’t always start off so popular though. After the drastic style change from “Waking the Fallen” many fans were left confused and angered by the new sound. It wasn’t until a certain song hit the radio stations in America that the sentiment began to change. “Bat Country” came out charging and introduced the band to a whole new audience. MTV put it in regular rotation earning the number one spot on TRL for several weeks. “Bat Country” was also the catalyst for Avenged Sevenfold winning “Best New Artist” over Riaanna, Chris Brown and many others at that years VMA’s. We thank everyone for the wild journey we have been on together and hope for many more years to come.
