With Breaking Benjamin earning their first #1 on the Billboard 200 and best sales week ever, Billboard has put together a list of 10 rock bands whose popularity (in album sales) is greater than the mainstream coverage they receive. Avenged Sevenfold are included.
The commercial success of Avenged Sevenfold may have peaked with 2005’s City of Evil, which sold over a million copies. But the Warner Bros. act is still prospering well above the industry average. Their last album, 2013’s Hail to the King, sold 587,000 copies, giving them a streak of five consecutive LPs to break a half-million.
