Avenged Sevenfold Interviewed By Dinosaur Journal.

Avenged Sevenfold were interviewed by Dinosaur Journal and spoke about playing Hong Kong for the first time, how they expect the crowd to be, if they like any bands from Asia, how they describe their music, what they think is ‘good music’, their tour equipment in Southeast Asia being different, how they decide the set-list, if breaking into mainstream changed the band, if there are any song they’ve played so many times they can’t stand them and more.

What do you think as “good music”?

A7X: What makes you feel emotional – if it taps something, creates a feeling and puts you somewhere else, that comes in all sort of form. you know Elton John, Queen, Metallica, some pop music, whatever you are listening to… To me, if it’s good, it’s good. If it touches you, it touches you.

Does breaking into mainstream change the band? In terms of creative process or goals?

Not at all actually. From day 1, we do what we want to do. We want to write music that we like. Continuously we put out things that we like and hope that our fans will like. And we got the greatest fans in the world that actually can do that. We always want to be the biggest that we can possibly be. And that’s no such thing that mainstream thing came up and all the sudden we change ourselves and like that. So it’s been what we want to do.
