Zacky Vengeance chatted with the Nottingham Post about the secrecy surrounding “The Stage,” if he thinks the album is their best to date, his favorite track(s), what fans can expect from their new show and more.
Do you have a favourite track on the new album?
Oh man, that is a hard question to answer. Most probably Angels. It has such a darkness and a sombre tone. We have probably only been able to capture anything similar to that after losing The Rev (James Sullivan) on some of the songs on Nightmare. There is something really special when you do finally come across a song that touches you in that sort of way. I also really do love The Stage, I am really proud of that song. That song never gets old which is something I certainly can’t say about every one of our songs.
What can we expect from your Nottingham show?
The most ambitious show that we have ever done. There are design elements together with live elements that no rock or metal band has managed to get close to doing before. We wanted to move away from just building a big stage and blowing stuff up. We actually reached out to the team that designs the Cirque du Soleil shows, which are just phenomenal. We worked closely with them to create a more interactive live show for our fans.
The stage is going to be moving and evolving; the imagery is going to be just unbelievable and it is definitely without a doubt going to be the most ambitious live show that we have ever done. And that says a lot because we are always trying to go above and beyond and put everything that we have into the show for our fans and this time we are doing more than we ever dreamt possible.
