Brooks Wackerman Interview In Rhythm Magazine.

In their January 2016 issue, Rhythm Magazine published a short interview with Brooks Wackerman where he spoke about getting the gig with Avenged Sevenfold, working with the band over the course of the last year, when we can expect a new album and if it was daunting following in the footsteps of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. An excerpt is below.

Are you looking at a new Avenged album in 2016?
Brooks: “Hopefully. I can’t confirm that, but we’re bouncing ideas off each other now. If it’s right we’ll go ahead and track it, and if it’s not right we will dissect it and work on it. I think in the next year we’ll have something.”

Is following in the footsteps of The Rev a daunting challenge?
Brooks: “I know JImmy and was very familiar with his work as a drummer and songwriter. I feel this band definitely gives me a bigger canvas to paint on as far as options for expressing myself as a drummer. What I love about this band is that while each record is classed as metal, they take so much detours and stylistic turns. It’s pretty exciting to see what we’re going to come up with.”
